99 si won't start, help me out plz
ok i have 1999 si and it was working fine until a friend car(1999 ek) died..so we thought we should switch out the coil and igniter, still didn't work..but now my car won't start after i put mine back in...tell me what you think is wrong if you know...
no i double checked the wires and they are good, i don't know whats wrong with it. a friend of mine says it can be the module, but i don't think it has anything to do with it?
check firing order and make sure the coil has the spring on it. A missing spring will cause numerous problems. firing order is 1-3-4-2, look at the distributor cap and you will find an "A" stamped next to a spark plug wire stud/tower. That's where #1 spark plug wire goes keep installing the wires clockwise according to the firing order.
**** like that happens to cars. something will be working splendid. then the moment you touch it decides not to work anymore. my advice, dont touch **** unless you can be without a car for several days! btw it sounds like your coil needs to be checked with an ohm meter! if not new cap and rotor wouldnt hurt

yea my fault..ok lights work, feul pump work, it cranks, i have gas, but i have no sparks. like i said i changed out cap, rotor, igniter, and coil..but still no spark. spark plugs are good the spark wires works. i just can't seem to find out the problem..i had a problem like this before and it got fix. i was told it was my crank sensor, but i'm not sure..its usually the igniter or the coil when its like this, but this time i guess its not idk. help me out if you can i really need to get this car running.
yea i got engine check light on and its coz my o2sensor for my cat and i knew that long time ago but i know there should be another code that it should be throwing but i can't get to throw the code..

Have you hooked up an OBD2 scan tool to the car to see if you have any codes set. Thats the beauty of OBD2 it makes diagnosing problems much easier. That way you don't waste a bunch of time and money just guessing and replacing parts.
when you say that you have gas does that mean that you hear the fuel pump turning on, or that you are actually getting fuel into the cylinders. if you pull the spark plugs are they soaked with fuel?
As far as the crank sensor goes... there isn't one. the sensor on the front of the crank behind the harmonic balancer IS NOT A CRANK SENSOR. it is a crankshaft fluctuation sensor. its only purpose is to diagnose misfires and set misfire codes (OBD2 federal requirment). all of the crank, cam and tdc sensors are in the distributor (like honda has been doing since the 80's).
I would say at this point (assuming that you are actually getting fuel to the cylinders and you don't have a problem with the ecu or the wiring harness) that its time for a new distributor housing.
One last thought. make sure that your timing belt is lined up properly.
