i have recently noticed that my coolant overflow is a little low. i filled it to the max then forgot about it. i checked it again tonight and it is low again. i would say i have drove probably 300 miles since then. any ideas? not even a drop low on oil and it doesn't seem to be mixing it also isn't smoking or anything. i have also noticed that back near where my blower mounts to the head on the passenger side there is a water outlet fitting that sticks straight up. (it is above the bigger hose that loops to the back of the block) has some water stains and i noticed it when i noticed the fluid was low last time. but it doesn't seem to be wet or anything

 

the coolant is probably evaporating because it is hot and then hitting a hot hose.....a picture would help on this one if you can take it. From what I'm understanding it sounds like one of the hoses that should route to the IACV, but I may not be understanding it correctly.

 

i know these are big but when i shrunk them it was hard to see. this looks very dry but i know the motor gets hot. i cant really tell where it is coming from the bigger line has teflon on the whole thing so that is why it looks so discolored because the coolant has stained it.

 

wut ive noticed from working at a dealership is when the coolant overflow bottle is really low, sometimes the radiator is low also..you might want to top of ur rad. b4 you top off ur overflow

 

once my coolant overflow goes low it quits. i can't get anymore in the radiator. i don't know how long my overflow was low before i noticed it and the radiator was full. i am running a 160 degree thermo, water wetter, and a fluidyne also. only other thing i can think of besides doint a compression test is take off the blower and check the intake manifold torque which i really don't want to do because it was a pita. you cant even get a torque wrench to some of those bolts

 

if u want to see if its leaking put a rug or soemthing under ur car and park it let it sit then come back and check it out

 

my car sits in my garage that has nothing on the concrete so if it was leaking i would of noticed fluid on the ground

 

my ek overflows from the radiator sometimes. i've yet to find the problem. noticed it about 3 months ago
