Default Preloading the clutch..... can someone explain this technique please????

Title says is all .. Always here about preloading. But i dont know really what it is. Do you have to use the ebrake to preload???

Just wondering cause im getting some bfg drag radials and i cant afford to snapo my axles.

Thanks guys.

come out of the burn out put into first.
let the clutch out slowly til the car starts to lurch forward HOLD THE LEFT LEG THERE. dont push in or let out, use the gas to stage the car holding back with the ebrake. stage, rip the ebrake, put it on the 2 step, 3rd yellow brake down, clutch out. dont side step, just lift off. done.

the preload is basically having the clutch slightly engaged while staging.

the ebrake is needed because the car will try to move forward with the clutch spinning that high. 2 step launch control, what ever you use, last year i didnt have launch control. i used a 2 step.

yes. but thats the price you pay. is it organic or ceremetalic? if it is organic i would switch it asap. the organic will fail fast as it cant handle the heat.

done properly, it will prolong the life of them. last year i broke 2. both on the 1-2 shift not on the launch. that was leaving at 8200.

pay no mind to the wideband it was dead:

on drag radials anyway you want to feather the clutch. keep it out of wheel hop. g/l either way. punching out.
- thanks.

I wouldn't preload on a stock clutch, I'd just feather the clutch out.

Another way that works great for me is after you have staged the car and tree is bout to drop hold the clutch right on the disengaging point and as the lights drop slip out on the clutch with 100% throttle..Bascially your riding out the 60ft. on the clutch..alot of times the car cant handle all of the power out the gate so u use the clutch to give it what traction the car can handle..Its alittle tricky but a couple times and you'll have it down..The slipping of the clutch itself will bring power up faster as well...

i only had wheel hop once last year, launching about half throttle at 5000rpms on drag radials (320hp). id let the clutch up to right before it was fully engaged, then slip it out and 100% throttle at the green light. my 60 fts were never too good, but a constistant 2.0 ->2.1second
