Is it safe to use spacer to gain hub clerance?
Need some help guys. I got a set of panasport but the hub is too small for my crx. Would it be safe to use spacer to push the wheel out to clear the hub? I read some where that panasport are lug centric and doesn't need to be on the hub. any input would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
Frankly i'm not a fan of spacers, but read up you'll find many people with no issues of them others whom have had problems and a ton of just misinformation.
Safe, i'd say yes... would I do it... probbly not.

Spacers will shift the center of force further outward from the wheel bearings and put more stress on them. Whether or not it's enough to cause early failure, I don't know.
yes honda is hubcentric.. im sure you can find a spacer with an adaptor so the wheel is resting on the hub and not the lugs. you might snap your lugs if you dont.
what were the panasports off of that had a smaller hub a miata or something?. I would bring the wheels to a machine shop and have them put them on a lathe and open the center to honda size. It should be very easy and cheap. It shouldn't be more than $20-$30 a wheel. Considering the price of panasports I think this is your best option
