y8 tranny z6 engine will it work????

Default y8 tranny z6 engine will it work????

i know this is kind of a noob question but i gotta ask this. i have a crashed 94 ex with the z6 the tranny is on its way out the door and im going to swap that engine into my hatch hopefully boost and i dont need a bad tranny. will it work for me to take the engine out and get a y8 tranny an just swap them???

Yes, y8 will work. All 92-00 D series trans are interchangable.

But why a y8? the Z6 has slightly shorter gears. The Y8's are slightly longer.

actually they have the same gearing, the del sol si's have a slightly shorter 5th gear

z6 is bad but i thought y8 was steel an z6 had aluminum gears i thought a y8 was more dependable?

aluminum shift fork i think. i had a z6. blew it. never had a y8
