weird firewall problem...
I have never heard or seen this happen on any honda's or any cars in general.
Well it all started when I started to push in the clutch and it wouldn't allow me to
switch, so I had to push the clutch pedal a little further. Like pushing the pedal even
harder then necessary just to get it to go into gear. So then I thought maybe
the last time I had to work on the clutch system, that perhaps I didn't tighten
something, so I checked everything out and didnt see any leaks. Thinking that
I might have air in the system.
The slave seemed fine and the master leaking just a tad bit, upon inspecting the
master cylinder from the inside I had notice the bracket that holds the clutch pedal
is broken. So I pull that out to see if its fixable or just needs to be replace.
The metal seemed to thin to welk so I just went out and a used one for 40 bucks
for the the whole pedal assembly. Well not to bad, but upon installing the pedal
I realized that the firewall is broken. And the crack goes all the way up to the
whole for the wire loom.
Well I was thinking of maybe making a bracket, but then that would offset the
master cylinder from the pedal. Even though I was only using 16th of an inch
metal. Still might be to thick. But if I go to thin it might not be enough to
permanently fix it.
So does anybody have any input or suggestions.

I've seen this problem before on other cars, not yet on a honda, but on Euro Junk
The way I 'fixed' it on the other cars was to add in a plate of 12 gauge [1/8 inch] steel across the area where the bracket mounts to the fire wall
Like an extra inch wider and longer than where the bracket mounts.
What year is this car? 90? Sure hope this isn't a trend. LOL

this is a 95 accord.
Well with the plate deal, I had bought a 1/16 inch thick plate and was thinking about
the plate, but then isnt it going to throw of the distance between the master cylinder
shaft and the pedal?
