Rebuilt Motor.. Unknown Troubles >:(
My friend and I are rebuilding his d16z6. We put new rod / main bearings in. We also used a new crank and 1 new piston from another d16z6.
Assembley was going good. Then we put the cradle on, tightened it down. Now turning the motor over by hand is fairly hard. If I turn it over 10 times and let it sit for 30 minutes. Trying to turn it over is SUPER hard. Takes a breaking bar / pipe. Once its free it spins easily.
While putting the cradle on we turned over the motor a few times after we snugged each bolt.
Why is the motor getting "stuck" and hard to "start" turning over?
TIA!

did you guys check your bearing tolerances with plastigage?
Did you guys install new piston rings and check the ring end gap?
what lube did you use, what torque wrench, and who's torque specs?
