Default Can a Manual ECU start a Automatic car? need help...

well my car won't start and i am trying to narrow down the things that could be causing it.

i have a obd0-obd1 boomslang wiring harness and p28 chipped ecu.

i tired the p28 on a integra and it started up fine.

but then i put the harness and p28 into a DA integra 1991 automatic and it did not start.

so is it the wiring harness or since its a manual it won't start?

Nope. Integras use a seperate TCU to control an Auto tranny. Civics do not. The P28 does not support communication to a TCU. You will need a p75 Auto ecu or you could use a few other integra ECU's with custom components to run the manual ..but bottom line is a p28 isnt gonna do it. I dont deal much with Automatics...but I believe I am correct here.

You are partially correct. The P28 ecu will not run the automatic car, but it should still start it. And not all integras use TCU's.

the reason why I said that is not due to the TCU, the P28's B7 needs to be grounded (showing that the clutch is in or auto trans is in park/neutral) to allow the car to start... it will not even turn over if the pin is not grounded.
