'00 Civic EX, 1.6 L SOHC, with Manual Trans
Hey guys, I am new to the site. I was hoping that I could get some advice from somebody about a few things.
First of all, I am going to be getting a 2000 Honda Civic EX with the 1.6 liter SOHC motor with the manual transmission in the near future, and I was wondering how much power the stock transmission and clutch can handle before I would be risking a failure? I plan on adding a mild turbo as far as engine mods go. Here is a link to the Turbo Kit I am looking at. Tell me what you think...
http://www.edelbrock.com/sport...shtml
Also, how does the engine hold up to being driven daily with a turbo? Does it dramatically cut down the lifespan? Are the stock pistons able to take the added pressure, or would I need to go with lower compression pistons?
Thank you in advance for any replies, and sorry about all the questions. Just trying to increase my knowledge.

The Edlebrock turbo is a great kit, you can't go wrong! I would advise some proper fuel management, but that all depends on your location and inspections and the such. Your stock pistons will be fine, no need to go lower, but it is in your best interest to upgrade the clutch to deal with the added torque.
