Default mini swap Q's

will i was reading the tread about the mini swap..i have a d16y7 block and a z6 head didnt' really understand wat i need to get because i have a y7 block..would i need to get a new distrubitor, timing belt or anything else new..anything would help thanks

All you'd need is the timing belt, but I'm not sure which one you would use. The answer could probably be found in the FAQ.

What car is this going in?

p.s. You'd need a new head gasket too. (I was hoping that that was one of those common sense items)

well the d16y7 is obd2 and the z6 head is obd1, so your goign to need the z6 ecu (p28 i belive) z6 distributor, and maybe a few other things...it would be alot easyer to stick with obd2 so i would get a y8 head and ecu

this is going on my 97 civic hatch dx..boosted..its already coverted to obd1 so i will need a new distributo, gasket and timing belt rite...already have the p28 anything else im missing

also would i need z6 head studs to bolt onto the y7 block and z6 cam gears..i have a head gasket from fjt when i bought the vitara pistons that should be okay rite...my bads for so many questions..just want to do my build rite..????

i have a y8 block and z6 head sittin in my cousin's garage (previous motor) crappy power but all he used was the z6 head studs and a new timing belt used a aem z6 cam gear as well

you need the z6 head, ecu, spark plugs, plug wires, and timing belt.

ive read around that i would need some y8 arp head studs and 1 z6 one too..it this correct..some one correct me if im wrong...
