Hello,

I am a bit concerned, I have an 05 V6 Accord and recently discovered that if I put the pedel to the metal the "check engine light" tuns on. Once I easy off the gas the check engine light turns back off and all is fine.

This only happens when I'm on the freeway and I step on it causing the tranny to go into it's passing gear and the car red lines a bit.

Is it normal for the check engine light to turn on because of this?

 

No, it's not normal. The ECU might have a code stored, even though the CEL isn't staying on. Take the car in to the dealership if you're under warranty. Otherwise take it somewhere and have the codes checked.
