V-tec kicks on and then off AND THEN ON AGAIN...SOME FREAKING HELP WOULD BE NICE! THIS IS A TECH QUE
My buddies CRX (b16a swap) hits v-tec and then v-tec cuts off and cuts back on quickly...Im thinking its the v-tec solenoid because the wiring is all F@CKed up.
Pics of the proper wiring connected.
He is running the stock ECU but its chipped...everything seems good but v-tec kicking on and off...
Also I installed a fluidyne radiator yesterday for him...correctly and then the check engine light came on....The wiring to the v-tec solenoid were in my way...could it have been the wiring??
So H-T can I get some help here??

I have seen this happen when a car is low on oil too. Your instance sounds like electrical though
I had this happen to me also. There is a screen inside the vtec solinoid mine was dirty as hell cleaned it up now works perfect. But it sounds like you have a wiring problem I would check all the wires twice three times if necessary
yeah im guessing the same thing...Now what about the check engine light?? could it be the wiring on the "VTEC" solenoid? because it wasn't on before I did the radiator swap....and like I said there were wiring in the way so maybe I pulled some wires or something....
Anyone know of a FAQ that has the proper wiring for the VTEC solenoid??
Would be great thanks.

It could be the dizzy but why would it all of a sudden do that?? It didn't have a problem before.....im pretty sure it was the wiring I will keep you posted thanks guys.
describe what you hear exactly and what the driver and car is doing at the same time.
So you hit the VTEC crossover point...is it cutting in and out right around that point then stays in VTEC till you shift? Give us the senario.

yeah so I wired up everything last night and it hit vtec and then did it again....and then there would be time when on the belt way it wouldn't do it at all......
Im thinking its dirty in the inside....im going to try that....
OH YEAH the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME OFF!
The oil pan is leaking oil and we are going to replace it with a moroso oil pan next week so thats why im not even messing with it.

Many reasons can cause vtec to kick in and out.
1. Not enough oil.
2. Your new rad is so powerful it cools the engine down, if the engine is reading too cold on certain sensors, vtec will disengage.
3. It's hardly ever the solenoid if it's working on and off.
4. Check the CEL and fix whatever it is.
I love how people have the CEL on and complain that vtec doesn't work. VTEC will not work with a CEL.
