Default OT: slightly off topic, but R-related: importing a new CTR from Europe.

Is the new CTR available in europe with left hand drive? Can't someone technically import one to the US if they wanted too? I mean, there are people importing German cars from Germany all the time.

it should be just as easy or just as hard as getting any other grey market car.

One downfall of driving a grey market car is that you can only get liability insurance for it. Since the insurance companies want no part of having to import replacement parts when you wreck it.

They are indeed available in Europe with LHD and have been now for some time.

Theyre for sale in the UK for £16K (about $23,500), but they can be bought for as little as £13K (brand new, about $19,000). These are Right hand Drive prices, but left hand drive should be slightly cheaper ($500). However, the only three colours available in Europe are Black, Red and Silver, so if you want a white one its gotta be JDM, as if you want a white one in the UK you still have to grey import it from japan. Shipping to the US East coast is approx $1000 from any european port. Theyre quite good cars, just test drove one the other day, with much more tourque than the ITR, but the handling just isnt in the same league, a better be would be the new JDM integra type R, a friend over here has one of them (grey import), and its flipping quick with very good handling, but the steerings still a little wooly.

Take care

Big John
