i just put my si engine in an hf and i started it yesterday and as soon as it starts up the rpms shoot up to about 4000, i thought it was my tps so i unpluged it and started it and got the same thing


any ideas as to what my problem is?

 

Does the idle kick down after it's warm?

 

check your vacuum lines... when mine did the same thing (idle at 4k) it was because a vacuum line on the back of my manifold had somehow fallen off.

 

Did you check to see if the throttle cable is adjusted properly?
