Default What to do if one tire pops?

So tonight me and my friend are driving through the backroads (not racing or even going fast) and I hit this part of the road where it just drops off about 6 inches (right from the line on the outside of the road). I guess I pulled it back onto the road and the road ripped the inside of my tire. The rest of my tires have a good amount of tread left on them but I don't think they sell the tires I have here. What should I do, replace just the one tire?

The official answer you will hear from most folks is to use four matched tires at all times, so they will tell you to buy four new ones.

However, if you can buy one or two tires that are similar in performance to your old tires, you can get away with doing so. I think it's best to at least use the same tires on each axle (i.e. left front tire matches right front tire, left rear tire matches right rear tire). So if I were you, I would buy two new tires, keep the extra one you already had and rotate it in as needed.

Also discussed in this current topic.

What kind of tires have you been using? Make, model, size.

Those are still available. Just buy another one. Currently $41 at Edge Racing.

Part of the answer also depends on how much tread is left on the existing tires. If they are fairly new you can get away with just replacing one or two. If the existing tires were almost due to be replaced you are probably better off getting 4 new tires, if you ask for advice as to what tires to get here you will probably get 4 much better tires suited to your needs.

Cheers.

the price of them is soo cheap compared to other tires, just go ahead and buy 2 new ones.

I would maybe think twice if they were say 200 dollars per tire.
