Air chisel the other side which is a welded nut to the LCA. All you would have to do is just either:

a) replace LCA

or

b) put a nut onto the end of the bolt next time you put one through.

Try using a jack to change the position of the lower control arm to relieve some pressure on the bolt itself. I've never had any problems getting one out with a breaker bar or impact gun.

Ha ha, I have done that before.. I cut the strut out with a angle grinder (cutting between the stut and inside of the LCA. Its a grade 8 Bolt, your going to be hard pressed to drill it out of there, even with a big vice and drill press. This will likley damage the strut and it will have to be replaced. When you put it back together make sure you use a lot of copper lube to prevent this from ever happening again.

thanks for all the help!! I will need to replace the rear lca to put the shocks in anyway...

got it off the lca, but the stupid stud still stuck in the bushing!!! stupid bolt extractor **** dont even work!! boooo!! been drilling it all freakin day and probably the rest of the night!

This is not going to help, but when you get your new setup, remember to apply some anti-seize! I put that on every bolt that i remove from the car.

i had that happen on my old civic the bolt seizes onto the bushing in the shock.... it sucks big time
