NEED HELP & OPINIONS, WILL THIS WORK????
I HAVE A 91 SI CRX W/ A DOHC ZC 1.6 IN IT. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS FINDING PARTS FOR MY CAR. I HAVE COME ACROSS A 2001 CIVIC EX WITH THE 1.7 L VTECH ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, BASICALLY THE WHOLE CAR AND AT A GOOD PRICE OF $400, EVEN THOUGH THE BODY IS TOTALED. WILL THAT ENGINE AND TRANNY BOLT UP INTO MY CRX. OR WOULD YOU RECOMMEND KEEPING THE ZC. WHICH ENGINE HAS BETTER PERFORMANCE????
if the 01 civic is a "D" series motor, the original trans, axels and shift linkage for the CRX will work with it. Wiring would be a bigger problem.
Your easiest swap would be a 90-93 Integra (B18) COMPLETE SETUP
MOTOR, TRANNY, AXELS, SHIFT LINKAGE AND MOTOR MOUNT KIT.

01 Civic is a D series engine, but it will not work in your car. For one, it rotates the opposite direction of the engine you have. For two, the engine mounts are different. You should probably just repair your DOHC ZC. Parts aren't that difficult to get, just check out: http://www.thezcr.com/forums/ for all of the information you need. Most ZC parts have a US spec equivalent.
like hf2zc said ^...that engine is a no go in our ef's...yes its a d series but a completely dif d at that.the engine has no dizzy at all and the mounts dont match..if u can find a 2000 civic with a d16y8 vtec than that would be ok...

WHOA there cowboy, slow down there with that bunk *** advice you are giving there, that gen d series is nothing like the older ones, wont bolt up for ****, wiring is completely different.
your easiest swap by far is a single cam zc, same as stock d16a6 except for a more agressive cam. it will pull almost like the dohc zc. but since you already have the dohc, just put another one in there.
