Default buying tires help please.

hi i drive a 90 civic hatch, 4 spd manual. a few months ago i bought some 15's for pretty cheap.. 200$ http://i39.photobucket.com/alb...s.jpg <-those are them. right now i got 175/75/r13 on my civic. there is a guy in my city, edmonton ab, selling some Fulda Carat Assuro tires that are 195/60R15's (claimed to have 90% tread left) for 300$. from what i have checked (a tire calculator thing online) these will work fine. but im not sure, as i dont really understand how a 175 and 195 could have the same diameter.. im a newb, so if anyone could
1. tell me if these will or wont work, and
2. explain to me how a 175 and 195 could/couldnt have the same diameter.
thanks.

175 and 195 are the width (in milimeters) of the tire from right to left. those should fit.

Use this tire size calculator to see how close two tires really are.

you dont want those(195/60/15) they will be super tall, you want 205/50/15 or 195/50/15
