help on internals

Default help on internals

well i have a d16y8 and i want to go n/a for now cuz i'm low on cash so no turbo for a bit but i was wondering what kind of internal work can i du to the motor like cam pistons etc. before it wont pass smog cuz

I am pretty sure that most internals are legal as long as you tune it really good.

Being legal and passing are two different things...you may be able to get away with more on a d than a b but honestly to get any real power out of a d going NA will cost way more than going FI. search all motor D's and boosted d's to get some ideas of parts you will nedd to get some power. I think you will find that boosting a d makes way more economical sence than NA

so buy a carb legal torbo kit... i know greddy makes one and so does edelbrock. greddy is way over priced though. if you build your D to make good NA power you wont pass smog, not legit ayways. there are some people you can contact that can do it legit but costs bank. search "SMOG"
