P.S. I just recently installed a 96 GSR fuel pump in my car so my tank was off.... could i of bumped the float or something and made it not work right...

the fuel light sending unit is not attached to the fuel pump. so i doubt you bumped it on accident. what you can do is open the cluster and move the needle with your hand. fill it up and move the needle to the top. hth

i did that and the gauge just went back to the 1/4 tank mark and then it went back to empty shortly after that.....

I think you might have tapped the wrong line. You sure your tapped yellow/white on crx side to the cluster, to cluster side (looking from backside, far upper left plug count left to right pin4 I believe, should be yellow/white too. If not check the voltages coming out of that wire, it may be another wire.

if I'm not mistaken the gauge works off of resistance Via a potentiometer attached to the float in the tank, did you have to splice any wires up near the cluster?? possibly a bad connection causing high resistance in the circuit? I'll have to look at a schematic and a pin voltage chart and post later. not sure if high resisance would be full or empty.

hmmm this might be a little of topic but maybe someone can still help.
I wired up the jdm sir cluster in my 1990 civic si. only problem is that the speedometer doesnt work along with no mileage or km i should say. i followed the wire diagram that was posted http://b16a.honda-perf.org/cluster.html. could anyone help with my problem. I had it wired up wrong to begin with as they had 2 yel/red wires in the usdm cluster. 1 in the 8p and 1 in the 12p! so anyway i rewired and now my oil light actually lights up but still no speed. Also another question there is a prong that plugs in the back of the usdm cluster and a small blue connector with 2 wires 1 yel and 1 yel/blk attached to a small clear plastic box on the back of the usdm cluster can anyone tell me what this is for. i really want me speedo to work. thanks in advance
