jdm eg6 cluster
i just put my jdm cluster in and the gas gauge doesn't work
well atleast i think it doesn't work
i filled the car up with gas and it says i have like 1/2 tank
what would be causing this
when i put it in there was a yellow and green plug that went into the center of the old cluster but has no plug-in on the jdm cluster
would this have anything to do with it?

if i'm not mistaken, the yellow plug is for the SRS light, and the green is for the cruise system light?
did you give the gas gauge time to move after you filled the car.
the EG cluster is a plug and play item, and should work fine.

i have the cluster too ...... ok on the oem cluster theres 4 plugs.... 2 on the ends and 2 in like the middle ... on the jdm cluster u just use 2 plugs on the outside.... the other 2 just leave dangle u dont use them ..... as far as ur gas 1) you have a faulty cluster, being used and all 2) check the plugs and make sure u got them all the way in...they do go deep and they have to click 3) i dont know ......................................good luck

ive noticed..my sir cluster gas needle takes alot longer to move up when i fill up the tank when its colder outside...i dont know if this means anything..but when it was warm outside..id fill up and jump in my car and the neddle would be pointed straight up..now thats its winter i can fill up go inside the gas station and pay before it gets half way up...it stil goes all the way up it just gets there slowly
is it cold as hell where you live?

hmmm,i don't know then.i'm assuming your gauge worked correctly on your stock cluster?i seriously doubt anything just happened to go bad on your stock sending unit or wiring when you installed the new cluster.i'd say it has to be something in the new cluster.make sure that the needle has nothing binding it up(like the base of the needle being pushed down so it touches the gauge face).i guess there's also the possibility that the needle is positioned wrong.you could try removing it and putting at full with the car on and a full tank, then see if it functions correctly.other than that,i'd say your only option would be to replace the unit with one from another tach-equipped cluster.be careful removing the needle, and make sure you replace it in the right position.

that's kinda sketchy
in the past i've used a fork .slide the needle stem between two of the fork prongs, with the prongs under the needle base.gently pry straight up and it should come off.don't forget to be careful not to scratch the gauge face.you may want to put some masking tape over the face to protect it.
main thing:be careful

that's what i was saying above:

but i'm pretty sure you'll have to remove the needle to take off the stock gauge face and replace it with the JDM one.
