Default Ground control Install problems *searched*

Im trying to install my ground control coil over kit with the stock struts. Im running into a problem when putting the top hat over the strut, and it bearly seeds on there. attached is a picture

As you can see the top hat does not go over the spring completely..

what exactly am I doing wrong on the install here? Im still working on the front, and only a couple hours of daylight left. Please help.

okay, well i took the back ones off, and they were just like this actually.. there was a gap in the spring.. im guessing because since its such shorter of a spring, it just cant contact. Im betting it'd be allright once I just put it back in with it all intact now that I think about it. because the way that picture was taken that was for a 3 1/2" drop from the stock.. so that'd make sence, maybe im not as dumb as i thought.

do you have a base or SH? not sure if this helps but if its an SH you need aftermarket shocks, the stock ones won't accomodate GCs.
