Default h23 vtec spark plug problem....

Hi I've started my engine (h23 bottom-h22a head type-S pistons) engine runs good but spark plugs are strange.... running with p-13 stock for moment(break-in)
14 degree timing, and no 6 plugs....is that too hot plug ??? Should I get some colder ones??? thanks

tuning is essential to your break in. Thats all you need.

get rid of the stock ecu and get it done right.

Bingo.

Swapping plugs won't do anything for fueling.

yeah but when I first started it it was running a bit too rich and it ran a long time on idle .. So I tought it was beginning to clean up by itself. cause fuel pressure is at 40 psi on idle (vacuum not disconected) should I get it higher?? I dont want to get on dyno right now cause the engine is not really breaked-in. bottom and head is brand new.... thanks for your comments...

Rich is better than lean. Regardless, you need to have it at least street tuned so you can drive around on it without leaning out or detonating.

What ems are you running? Injector size?

I'm running on a stock p-13 for the break-in procedures but will go on a tuned p-28. I've raised fuel pressure to 54 psi with vacuum disconected. Engine is not pinging and I'm not giving it a big load for now. but as I raise the fuel pressure, the idle seems to raise a bit. So should I continu to get it higher than that till my plugs gets around brown color??? thanks
