Default Need help purchasing Amp+Subs

Well I got a after market pioneer competition cd player off my friend for a very low price ($50) and I'm still fairly new to car audio. I listen to a lot of rap = (high bass) and I need help in choosing what kind of Amp I need and what kind of subs. I wanna keep my budget fairly low, even though i know this will mean lower sound quality but I still don't want no name products that will produce terrible sound. I was thinking of getting 2 10's or 1 12inch to keep my budget down, but I'm having a hard time understanding what kind of amp i should get to get optimum power to my subs. My 92 accord also has a blown speaker on the passenger side of the car and I was wondering what kind of speaker I would have to buy to replace it.

First we are going to need a budget. I reccommend buying from a dealer instead of flea bay. This way you will have your product protected. But with a shallow budget I know it looks like a good deal. As for the blown speaker it could be a 4 inch in a pod or a standered 61/2. I don't know why honda did this.

Well My budget is around roughly ~CD$500(can go to around 700) , and I'm trying to investigate my Accord's blown speaker right now, I'll just try to estimate the size tomorrow. Also if you do happen to have any suggestions for a good after market cd player under 100, I'll consider purchasing it.

PS: I as well don't need any enclosures as I can make them in my shops class

I have no idea if these are worth it, but they seem alright, with a brand name behind them boot, You tell me http://www.futureshop.ca/catal...catid=

Great speaker. Just don't underpower that one. Give that sub 400 rms and it will rock and you will love it. Getting a great headunit for under $100 is that will do alot is hard. Try to go atleast 150 or so. For that price you can have a remote, mp3,wma,data play back. And most will give you the abilty to expand. Ie. 3 pair of rca, 1 for the front, 1 for the rear and one for the sub.

Yeah but that's exactly what I'm having trouble about purchasing, just the amplifier. Whether I should get a mono, or a 2-5 channel amp is really confusing the hell outta me, I seriously don't understand which kind of amp to get. If anyone can show me specs and pricing of amps that can run 2 10" subs or even 1 12"(the one in the link, above post) at optimum performance, that would be very appreciated.

The question that I really need an answer for --- Can I hook up 2 subs to a mono Amp?

if your looking at an amp just to run subs, and subs alone, go for mono. multichannel amps are more for normal speakers for the rest of your car and although defiantly can run subs, mono block amps are more effcient at it. yes you can run 2 subs of a mono amp

I actually would like to see what is recommended as well.

I am interested in getting a lil bass in my car...nothing too hard though.

What brand amp is good out there these days?

i have a great amp for sale. check out my forsale link in my siggy. i used to run my subs off it and it sounded great. i listen to rap as well as other music as well. the amplifier is of great quality and i bought it for much more than i'm selling it for about 1-2 years ago. I've used it for a few months only though, it's been sitting in the garage in its box since i took it off. haven't installed another one in my car since.

Use this amp. PIONEER GMD510M MONO CLASS-D. This will push that speaker fine. Make sure the gains are set correctly. I use it all the time with this speaker if a customer wants to go with that set up. Did you find out what speakers are in the door.

This amp will work well for that sub... http://www.crutchfield.com/S-N...&pg=3

Replace both front speakers with these... http://www.eclipse-web.com/point/sp6500.html

Drive the above with this amp... http://www.crutchfield.com/S-N...PF250 in 2ch mode, use HU power to drive rear speakers, [rear fill]. 94

I put a 15" Kicker in my whip and i LOVE it. I'm pretty sure the car is faster too, probably something related the ratio of watts to hp inverted by the water coolant lines. KICKER FTW!
