Default HUGE! play is stick shift, 2002 RSX-S Help please.

I got a 2002 RSX-S, its got about 95K miles, but i've had this issue for a while now.

There is VERY large amount of play in my stick shift. I'm talking about an inch. The play is there in all Gears, not just in nuetral. However, The car shifts and drives fine.

What could be causing this?

Under the hood where the Shift arm is, you know where the cable connects to the tranny and the A-Arm goes into the forks... well that just wiggles, and thats where the play comes from....is it a spring in the forks or something?

Even though the car drives fine, its annoying and takes all the fun out of driving a manual. I HATE it.

Wow, that shifting looks gross.
Remove that panel that covers your shifter and look for obvious damage.
If nothing obviously broken, make an appointment with your local Acura stealership.
