shooting flames!
91 crx with b16a SiR II swap. dc sport 4-2-1 header, high flow cat, skunk 2 cat back. and an exedy stage II clutch. also some msd plug wires and ngk plugs. nothing much. compression should be aroud 10.1 and it revs to 8,200. and when i shift at 82 from 3rd to 4th im popen a flam out. why? and is it safe on NA cars.
An factory map does not run rich enough to produce flames?
When I had an OBD1 stock H22a w/ a p13 untouched, no cat, it would shoot flames as well.
Its not uncommon.

ive popped a flame before
b18c with a straight pipe (spec 2 with the tip hacked off) and im just running a jdm p30 ecu.
its not that hard to make a honda backfire ( i duno if its aactuallly backfiring but it does pop) jsut let it build up some vaccum and then barely tap the gas and youll hear a pop
some time accompanied by small flames
