Two things to remember when changing your headgasket...

1) D16Y8 OEM Headgasket is around 27$ from the dealer, and it is MLS so you'll never have to scrape that stupid paper goo off again.

2) ARP Head studs come out to be about 30% more than new OEM head bolts (P/N 90005-PM3-003), but that's close enough to justify the superior ARP hardware to myself. If you do go ARP you'll be wanting to go for the D16Z6 Application, trust me on this one

Why are you replacing the head gasket????Sounds like you have a piston ring problem? How often do you have to top your oil up?

Thats how I found out my ZC's head gasket was blown.. white puff of smoke when I started the car... it would go away after a few minutes, then it became progressively worse, and wouldn't keep a full thing of coolant in longer than 2 or 3 days.

Not questioning your knowledge. Have you ever seen what happens when oil reaches a hot Cat............................................... ........white smoke. He's gonna have to replace the headgasket anyways if he takes it off to check it. But white smoke and oil coming out the tail pipe, I would think valve stem seals or maybe piston ring problem. There's ways to check(Cyl. leakage test, Compression test, etc.)before you start rifling parts at it.

in most cases you don't even need to replace the head bolts, they aren't torque to yeild like most other cars...Ive reused mine atleast 6 times, never had a problem with them..The only thing i do recomment is chasing the threads with a tap and die set

i just replaced my headgasket on my b16 and man, you might as well just bite the bullet and go ahead and get some arp headstuds. it would really suck if you go and replace the headgasket and then have to take it all apart to put new studs in. i know the stock honda bolts are torque to yield, so you are supposed to only use them once.
