Default CEL #6 (ECT sensor) - need to replace?

92 hatch won't start, ECU throwing code 6. So if the ECT is bad, do I replace the entire termostat or what? And moreover, should that make the car start?

Ok, what I meant to ask is:

Does that mean the thermostat is bad, or is it just a sensor?
