96-00 ex motor and 96-00 dx tranny

96-00 ex motor and 96-00 dx tranny
are the ex motor and dx tranny compatible? i dont feel like having to do a full swap so can i just put in a sohc vtec engine from like the ex with the dx tranny?

they are compatible, but be forewarned...the 96-98 Civic EX intake manifold/exhaust manifold is different than 99-00 EX. Good luck,
