Ignition Tune-up = Car Dies
Ok, so yesterday i put new:
Plugs
Cap
Rotor
Wires
On my turbo Z6. Started up beautifully. Got 1/4 down the road and car died. After pushing it home......Changed back the wires....nothing.
Changed back the cap....nothing.
Changed to an autozone rotor (cuz the original one broke a blade off). And that didn't work either.
I think i can rule out the starter since it died mid-ride. And i hear no other major noises like something inside the motor had broken.
So what else can it be?!?! Alternator?! You think the new parts affected the distributer( I say this only because i got the NGK high resistance wires)? Could it be my tune?
I'm so lost on this.

Are those wires for civic's?
Check on the dizzy, there is a small spring under the tower part. You have to remove the cap and rotor. Make sure that spring is there or didnt fall out. It should be straight.
Good luck

Yeah, the wires looked OK. And i also tried putting the old wires back on, so that's how i ruled out the wires.
What's the best way to see if i'm getting spark? Some DIY tests?
And if it does/doesn't have spark, what would it mean?
Thanks for the help, keep em comin!

The simplest way is to pull a spark plug out, insert it into the end of the wire, and ground it to the car somewhere on the valve cover. Have someone else turn the motor over and check the end of the spark plug to see if you have spark. Then we can go from there.
