oem headlight question

Default oem headlight question

is it possible to mod the oem headlights?

yeah i wanted to paint the insides black. i saw glue around the casing, so i wasnt sure if it would go back together 100%

my brother just did his subie headlights. he baked them, peeled them apart, painted then rebaked to put back together. was wondering if i can do the same

Yes, you can.

You should be able to find a few DIY's if you search a bit.

well this is what the last guy did, he put the unit in an oven for 10 Min's ant high temps. and the glue softened up.

yeah i've done it on mine, jst make sure u dont leave it in ther too long! and be careful when taking off/putting back not 2 break the clips.

I always foil my baking sheet too, shiny side up so it disperses the heat instead of absorbing it.

Nooooo.

I do 5 minute increments (I check every 5) at 225 degrees.

it depends what type of oven you're using...
generally turn theoven on at 300F for 5 mins
then turn it off put the bakin sheet on the bottom and place your headlight in...
leave it there for 10 mins(while the oven is off) and then with a philips screw driver pry it open
