Default GSR rods in LS block

was wondering what possible problems i'd run into by using the gsr/ITR rods in a LS block..
i realize they are .9mm longer than the LS, and the big end thickness is narrower than the LS.

basically the piston would be sticking up .0354 farther than stock.... but a thick head gasket might be able to take care of that problem.. and i'm thinking the bearings on the big end of the rod lip around the side to make of for the difference in width.

i'm just looking for a stronger rod than the stock LS, without spending big (over 300)

There was a group buy on Eagle rods for $300. Don't know if it's still going though.
