Default Passive locking system....

So my DEI Avital alarm system is set to Passive lock which means it locks automatically in 30 sec after egnine shut off. Its just very annoying when i get it serviced, put gas in and so on. I hate the fact I have to put it to sleep mode. So my question is how do I make it so that its not on passive lock any more?? Thanks

Do you know where your valet switch and installation manual are?

If you cannot answer yes to both of those questions, take it to wherever you had the alarm installed and have them change the programming.

I have the avital with 2way pager. Its their only one witht the 2 way pager. I know where the valet switch is but in order for it to work you have to turn the engine on and then off and press the button. It gets anoying when you have to do that every time. So in order to fix this I must get it reprogramed at the place that installed the alarm??

Yup they have to enter the programing mode with the key on-off cycle. shouldn't take them longer than 5 mins to do it.. Its not really that hard to do

That sounds like the Avistart 4400, you can change the programming yourself it's easy
1- open drivers door
2- turn ign. on then off
3- press and hold valet/program button until LED flashes once and siren chirps once, then release, [feature menu one]
4- within 10 sec. press and release valet/program switch again, then press and hold it, after a second the LED will flash one time a second, [feature one, passive/active arming]
5- while still holding the valet/program switch press and release the arm/lock button on remote, siren will chirp one time
6- release valet/program switch

Your done, alarm is now in active arming mode. 94
