How do your program a new remote to alarm system?
I have a DEI python alarm which I wanted to add a extra remote too. Got the remote already but don't have instructions on programming the remote to the alarm. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks!
if memory serves me correct, you turn the ignition on and press the vallet switch 8 times then press and hold it on the 9th time. the alarm will chirp 9 times than you hit the arm button on the remotes you want to program. goodluck
with DEI's you just turn the ignition on, press the button twice, holding it on the 2nd and then hit LOCK (this program's the lock button to the alarm's brain and the rest should follow).
This will atleast work for the viper and rattler lines.. might want to check your install manual, it will tell you for sure

i've asked before, but i'll ask again since we're talking abt programming remotes for dei product...
i want to get an additional remote for my rs3, but my friend's friend, who is an authorized dealer for cliffords (or is it dei), said that the rs3 has too strong of frequency making it only possible to program one remote at a time. i was wondering if that is true. and if so, am i able to use one of the remotes from the matrix line (the ones w/o the lcd) as long as it can arm/disarm/lock/unlock...

I would go to the alarm manufacturers website, I'm sure most of them do, and download the instructions from there, that should help you with the reprogramming of your remote. That's what i did when i got a new remote.

can you be more specific/clear? you said i can only program one remote at a time, with a total of 4.
am i not getting you or what? i don't mean that i will program 2 new remotes simultaneously. what i mean is, i already have 1 that came with the system. i just want to get one more as additional/backup. will i be able to have 2 remotes working at the same time (NOT programming two remotes at once).
i am ok with either the remote that has the lcd or w/o the lcd. i think the one w/o the lcd would be a better choice so i wouldn't have to explain so much to my family. not that they ever driv my car, but just if they do want to take my car somewhere.

There seems to be a few different ways to program DEI remotes to your alarm system. I have a Viper550 I believe it's the ESP. Anyhow, this is the new (2nd) remote I need to program to the alarm for my mother. Pop's has the other.
