I own a 91 civic hatch with a ls engine swap. The side motor mount bolts going into the block stripped out. I bought a complete new bottom end and installed it. I have heard from a few people that the reason my bolts stripped out, was because there was no front mount and with my motor torquing back and forth they ripped the threads out. I have seen some replacement front crossmembers that allow you to install a front motor mount. Has anybody had this problem? Can anyone give me any advice ?
The extra mount will help but if you tighten all 3 mounts the first time you wouldn't need to spend on a new crossmember.
ALL of the aftermarket 3 piece mount kits are solid so there really isn't any movement at all unless the bushings are worn out..Are you sure the bolts were tightened down?

its lke a shaking vibration when im revving the engine. The dash shakes and u can feel it under your feet. The guy who had the car before me put a crx exhaust system on it, i dont know if maybe its too close to the floorborads and making it vibrate. the car wasnt put togetehr right it was half way done and now its in shop as we speak, being doen the right way. I only ave few days left until i get it back.
I suppose you have to inspect the exhaust clearances for rubbing. I'm using hasport mounts and I get some vibrations but not like what you described. Just wait when the swap is done and inspect it again. Maybe it's because of the loose mounts..

well the swap is done and i have the car back still alot of vibration, but my mechanic said my mounts are pretty worn so it is like having a solid mount. I will be purchasing some mounts soon to stop the vibration. does anyone have any suggestions on a mount kit to buy other than hasport, that has a good price?
make shure you get mount inserts they make a big difference i had worn mounts and when themotor touqued back the one time it pulled the shifter linkage out of the tranny and fucked it
