Default 2003 type-r, 2007 type-x, worth the upgrade?

Right now I have 2003 series(around there, maybe 2002) alpine type-r 6.5" component speakers powered by my Alpine mrv-t320 amp. I also have the Alpine CDA-9807 Will the SPX-177R type-x speakers make a big difference at all? For RCAs I have the Stinger Dream series interconnects so its a clean signal goin to the amp, i dont use any cheap parts in my car.

right now im making custom door pods(from waht i have allready, they are goin to turn out really nice) and im thinkin of upgrading to the SPX-177R. I would get them on ebay (for ~$185+shipping) or wait to get them at BestBuy at the employee price(if they can get them) when i work there soon.

is it worth it for the setup i have?

(my stuff currently)

The Type X are a much better sounding speaker then the Type R, but there are better speakers then Type X also. 94

I work at Best Buy and I don't think you are going to be able to get the X's with your discount. It depends on what district your store is in, but I doubt it. You might be able to get them on employee accomodations but I doubt that too. You kinda just have to wait for a company to put their stuff on accomodations.

But yeah like they have said there are better components out there. I've heard good things about Crystal and CDT you might wanna check them out.

im looking around and seeing that MB Quart and Boston Acoustics is typically the top choice. are these the best to get without spending tons of money? im thinking of getting them off of ebay.

i like my type-r speakers(worlds away from my stock speakers) but im kind of looking for a more better sound.

The MB Quart QSD216 cost about $250 which i would like to get later on.

what do you think?

way out of my range. even on ebay its way too expensive for me. im keeping my type-rs till i find another, better pair of components. what do people think of the MB quart or Boston Acoustic?

true words right here ive actually owned a pair and the speakers in my opinion are good if your not running any woofers, the bass is good but the quality could be better. boston acoustics or mb quartz ftw

if you can get a job with the install shop or the geek squad, they get paid on average 2x more than the floor workers

def what im doing. i can apply to both probably. im going ot have 2 mecp certs so im first going to apply at the install bay...so far the door pods im making are turning out really well.

im also very good with computers, i always do my friends comps for free(to fix them) so its hard to comprehend how much they charge everyone
