Default Removing valve seals ?

I have the snap on pliers to remove them but they are still a PITA. I got a few of them but its real hard to get them off. Any tips ??

thanks but ive read that a few times actually. It doesnt really say anything new. Im wiggling them back and forth and pulling up slightly they dont want to move. One the head of the seal actually ripped off before it wanted to move.

theyre designed to break (the rubber seals) when you remove them
so just muscle them out

pull upwards hard while yo wiggle them in weird angles

the are a bitch. just beast the **** out of them with some needle nose vice grips. that was the hardest part of my rebuild i think.

Crap! I'm doing my valve seals this weekend and was planning on just using regular pliers. Is it really that bad?

Btw, what valve spring compressor are you using?

i used the snap on overhead one. Also recently i removed the seals from 2 heads i had and when i used a heat gun on them they came off fairly easy. It still took alittle time however it worked very well. I just heat the seal until i saw it smoke alittle then pulled on it. If it didnt come out after a minute or 2 of trying i heated it again and then tried again.
