does a d16z6 have knock sensor? if so..where is it located? how do i pin it to the ecu? i just pinned in vtec with a p28 ecu in this motor and im still reading CEL i am thinking its knock sensor.

P28 ECU doesn't have knock sensor circuitry either, so your CEL isn't coming from this...

 

Don't guess, check which CEL it is...

I did the CEL check thing and it is saying code # 19 automatic transmission lockup control valve I dont have an automatic, Although my ecu (p28) IS from one. Does this matter? why am i getting this code on my D16z6

so will my p08 work? its from a stick.. 1991...

I don't think so since the 91 ECU isn't obd-1 like the car...

 

it still works tho. like te car starts up and drives... i had it in a few days ago b4 i plugged in vtec

convert the auto P28 to manual... http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin...anual

the P08 will work, JDM 1991 is OBD1 and tends to be the same as USDM 92. Not always though...
Even though you an use the P08, the P28 would be suggested due to slightly different internal settings to the ECU.

 

how do you use this jumper wire? what is a jumper? i'd like to convert my ecu but this looks difficult..i need some more simple step by steps on the matter..if someone would give me the abc's i would appreciate it

 

IF you can solder, and only if you can solder well should you try to tackle this project. If you mess something up you will be using that P08.
If you know someone that can work with this sort of thing tell them to remove RP17 and jumper RP18.
it's a two minute job for someone that knows how to solder well.

 

ok i think i can do it myself without a problem, just when u say jumper..do u mean one of those little connectors? do i have to go to radio shack to get one? whats the exact name of it

from WIKIpedia - a jumper is a short length of conductor used to close a break in or bypass part of an electrical circuit.

best way to do it....
remove RP17 and RP18
solder in one leg from another resistor into RP18 location.

 

hmm. would you send a pic of how to do this? im not sure what to do exactly..better visual learner
