Default 92 lude heater problem

My heater control is way to hard to move to hot heat and when I really crank on it to move it over it just moves back to the middle of the heat settings, I got under the dash and looked over all the cables but I cant tell which cable is being sticky or if it from something else, does anyone know what I should do?

This is in no way a sure way (but it fixed mine)

First what you need to do is get in your car and turn it on. Press every vent control button from left to right and then right to left. Next part, now it gets tricky.

Remember that time your parents said "you cant have that new super nintendo every other kid has" ?

Now with that in mind **** your arm back like a bolt action rifle and let the palm of your hand fly forward and hit the middle edge between both the cold/heat switch and the fan power switch. Repeat as needed. took 3x for mine to work.
cheers

lol don't do that

the lever is connected to a cable that eventually runs through your firewall to the water valve in the engine bay......it opens and closes to let or not let hot coolant into the heater core

so the cable could be in a bind or the valve could be sticking

The heater core is causing him not to be able to slide the switch side to side ?
That is a big job for a small problem.

the valve is in the engine bay, right next to the firewall by the heater hoses...its not in the heater core...check the valve make sure it switches freely but the problem is probly in the control box itself, i had pretty much the same problem caused by the cable end connected to the slider
