I hate to sound rather rude, but, what's the point? It doesn't change power output, which is typically what a dyno chart can show. Its actually a change in acceleration throughout the powerband, not a hp number. I am currently at 9.9:1 fully built on one of my shop cars, and the acceleration is fantastic, but power output didn't change from my 9.0:1 setup.

For a turbo street motor on pump gas, doesn't it increase power output/acceleration in the lower range of the powerband out of boost, but decrease up top in high boost due to being more detonation limited?

How does the 9.9:1 compare to the 9:1 setup overall, what have you experienced as the pros and cons of each?

I was just about to make a thread about this.....if u were to get a standard b16 engine and say u run 10psi and make eg 300whp....if u were to get a thick copper headgasket that dropped your compression to say 9.8:1 which u could run 12psi would u make more power....i would assume so but i heard that the lower the compression the lower the power so could u pull the power back up and more importantly increase it over e.g 300whp........all through this we are talking stock bottom end.

thanks for your any info on this as its my last thing to sort before i bolt my turbo on next weekend

higher compression motors will have better off boost response and it will take less boost to make XXX amount of power.

i made 616whp on a t3 35r at only 25psi.

here is my 10:1 compression chart.

40psi
