Default Does a corroded wire=bad conductor?

I found on one of my fuel injector harness plugs, the shielding was stripped back a bit, and the copper wire was a bit corroded. Does it still conduct however?

would putting on some liquid electrical tape fix this? same thing on my IAT, and its RIGHT at the plug, so i cant splice a new wire in. Does it affect performance to have the fuel injector wire semi corroded liek that?

yup corrosion brings up the resistance

so the only option is the replace the connector?

Is there any kinda stuff i can slap on connections to boost the conductivity of it? as well as prevent corrosion? i think i have alot of connections that are starting to crack/split.

Corrosion on the surface of the wires won't really affect the conduction thru the wire. At least not until the corrosion is so bad that most of the wire itself is GONE.

But that same corrosion can get in-between the wire itself and the connector pin that's crimped onto the wire. THAT will be a problem. So you have to evaluate where the visible corrosion is located and whether you can guess about corrosion at the crimp connection.

No madjic fix for this, unless you can work some flux in there & solder it together.

yea ill just have to replace the connector.

However is there any kinda of epoxy/grease that will up the conductivity of the contact? like conductive grease? does this actually work? I was thinking about putting some on my grounding points/soldered/crimped contacts.

"Conductive grease" isn't really. It's grease with something like copper filings mixed in. The grease itself isn't conductive.

That's OK when you're assembling the crimped joint in the first place. Or between bolted connections - when you're assembling them in the first place.

After replacing the connector, apply some grease or something to prevent FUTURE corrosion.
