Default 2000 front end conversion on a 96 dx

i have a 96 dx and someone keyed the expletive out of my car and it needs to be repainted but before i paint it i wanna put a 2000 front end on it and then get it painted but i have been asking some people and they r telling me i need to cut off my radiator support and put the one from the 2000 on it and some other people are telling me i dont have to so im not too sure i know alot about my car but i have never done the conversion before so im basicly looking for a 2000 front end to buy off of someone or if someone knows a website to get one and i need to know if i really need to change the radiator support or if i can rig something up to fit the front end on it!!

The answer is no, you don't need the radiator support. All you have to do is cut a little slit on each side of the bumper near the grill so that it will slide onto the 96-98 radiator support. its not a big deal and its not even visible unless you pop the hood and are really looking for it. If you want to go through the trouble of locating a 99-00 rad support, and have it welded, then go ahead...but its not necessary.

the proper way is to modify the radiator support by cutting off two small pieces then you can bolt on using all the mounting points. way better imo.
