95 civic dx air conditioning issues, expansion valve location???
my AC blows cool, but not cold. i bought this car a few months ago and it did the same then. now that its getting warmer, i wanted it to blow colder. i figured it was just low on r134. so i take it to a friend who hooks it up to the machine and it has plenty of r134. he said the problem why it isnt getting cold is because the low pressure side is too high and said that i need to replace the expansion chamber. he said thats the only thing that will cause the low pressure side to be too high. do you guys think if i replace the expansion valve, that it will fix the pressure problem? could anything else cause this? also, where exactly is the expansion valve located under the hood?
having same problem , except my A/C doesn't work period. The mechanic has replaced my compressor and blew CDA into my condensor. So from what i learned if you have high low pressure you have a clogg somewhere and high high pressure the R134 isn't turning into cold air vapor.
So the expansion valve is supposedly located behind the glovebox since it is near the evaporator according the Haynes Manual. so not under the hood.
