where to get a s2k cf hood for cheap?
sorry guys i'm more of a civic guy but my friend asked me to find him a cf hood for his s2k, and i thought i'd ask. right now he can probably get one for 550 but i was wondering if maybe there is a better place, or maybe some good brands, and some avg prices, etc. also, if there are shops located in the SF bay area that carry them, that would be the best. thanks a lot guys,
hey thanks for the replies guys. does anyone have any websites i can look into or #'s i can call? maybe somebody has a used cf hood they might want to sell? my friend is very eager to find/buy a cf hood. thanks
man why do u peeps want carbon fiber hoods for ur s2000's..............the hood on there is already light as hell, i was freakn finger pressing it with my pinky... CF hoods like tyte but it's really impractical for the s2000, and than dealing with hood pins!!! YUCK!!! if u guys are going for that look just use the money to paint it black or something, but if that was me, i'd stick with the regular hood.....it's already light, don't have to worry about hood pins, or flying off like CF hoods tend to do and it's there already...................

I personally don't want one, my aluminum hood which is stock, is light enough for me. It's all about astethics and basically to say I got money to blow and you don't

shiet........i'm bout to buy a brand new BMW M3 coupe in January......s2000's are nice but i need practicality, but i do have money to blow there buddy....
Well a J's racing hood is around 900 bucks but it actually serves a purpose. It has a huge *** vent that cools temperatures inside the enigne bay by about 20 degrees.
If you just want the look, fiber images sells one for around $500.

I managed to pick up a used FiberImages hood for only $300. It was in excellent shape. Agreed that it doesn't have any vents, but one of the reasons why I wanted the CF hood was so that I could install hood pins for when I run at the (road racing) track. I didn't want to drill into the painted OEM hood and for scrutineering, you need quick access to the engine.
A bonus is that the carbon fiber weave looks awesome on the Spa Yellow.

In those pics, I had not installed the hood pins at the time.
