eg auto to manual swap using stock manual mount
I picked up a 93 automatic sedan shell to use whenever my dd car will be down for work. I have a full manual d16 and I know that you are suppose to use an aftermarket mount designed for the swap bc the welded bracket is different. However I don't care about this car much so is it possible to use the oem manual mount? I don't care if the engine sits higher on that side. I just want to know if it will work until I have extra cash for that mount. Only those who have attempted this exact move should chime in; no hearsay. TIA
yeah ive done that with the oem bracket on a different car and wanted to avoid that...
but it will def cause axle failure? is this from experience or what

when i did mine i tried shims but it still never sat right so i just drilled out the spot welds and put in a manual mount always heard axles when i shimmed when turning
hey thanks for that input..i was actually thinking about something like that...longer studs if need be and use a nut as a shim to lower the motor... when the axle made noise did it ever end up breaking...cuz this would just be temporary until i can afford that swap mount
