Default auto to manual with change OEM subframe, WORKS?

hi everyone, i have been reading use aftermarket rear mount for auto to manual transmission swap for eg civic. Now i have an idea and seem no one discuss before. How about i swap the whole manual subframe with the auto subframe when doing the auto to manual swap? so i don't need to buy the aftermarket rear mount and it looks OEM. any idea or if this been post before which i missed, someone please help me. Thank you you all

Why both subframes are the same.

It's not the rear mount that's different it's the transmission mount. The bracket is in a different place on each chassis; one's forward more & one is slightly more towards the firewall. You could just cut off the old bracket and weld in a new one to the proper location, instead of buying the aftermarket mount.

yea, what i mean is the bracket on the auto and the manual is different. the location they weld on the subframe is different right? So i am thinking how about i just swap the manual subframe to my current auto subframe(with the bracket), is that work? Thanks for the input guys.

I'm not sure we're on the same page here. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about:

The bracket I'm talking about is in the color of orange. I'm under the impression that you're referring to the part in green, but also with the bracket (in orange) attached. Is that what you're talking about? I sure hope not...

What year is the car? 92-95 use the auto to manual mount if your talking about the part that CivicSpoon is talking about. 96-00 just use all manual mounts/brackets and your good. If your doing it on an HX then yea i could see your problems.

That's not the rear transmission bracket, it's the side transmission bracket. You don't want to touch the frame, other than to air hammer the existing transmission bracket off of it. Then you want to weld a new bracket on to the frame. But seriously, just buy the mount Luserkid linked to.

That mount you're lookin for, if looks aren't important, or you are crafty with a rattle can of paint, i have the mount you need. I went through the hells of searching when i did an auto to manual swap. Scratch the subframe idea, the mounts are on the unibody. If you're interested in teh mount, lemme know. I can clean it up a bit. Its a factory mount, cut, and welded with 1/4 in steel plating to make up the height and gaps. It works. I had it on my hatch for 2 yrs, with boost, so i know its solid. Lemme know
