Questions about sensors....
I have been (all weekend) working on e-deading and alarming my car.
I have got the alarm almost all hooked up. A few questions about the sensors, I’m using the shock sensor dual mode prox sensor and the tilt sensor.. Plus the hood sensor...
Now I have the shock sensor in the plug for it, and then I have the green wire for that sensor hooked up (normally it comes cut)
And I have the Hood sensor, door triggers and the blue trigger wire from the prox sensor and the tilt sensor all hooked up to the BLUE wire on the H1 harness...
I have the prox sensor and the tilt sensor negative ground hooked up to the orange wire on the H1 harness.
I also have the warn green wire from the prox going to the green wire on the shock sensor.
And of course got all the powers going to a 12v
I'm not sure if this is a good setup or not, however I don’t get any "warns" just full blasts.
I have diode on the negative ground, warn, trigger for almost every sensor that goes into something twice... (the white strip on the diode facing the sensor)
the problem is, I don’t get any prewarns....and the hood sensor doesn’t do ANYTHING
any ideas?
If the way I’m doing this sensor wiring is crap, then what’s a good way to wire all this up?
Thanks for any input!

Two things. What alarm is this? Second why do you have your door trigger tagged to the blue wire when it should go to the door neg input. I taking this as it being a honda.

The reason the hood pin is not working is that it must not be grounded. The 2way remote will not show hood because you did not hook it up to that zone. That neg input is located on the remote start harness and is the long grey on. Its right next to the purple tach wire
Get rid of the shock sensor. Shock sensors are crap and wont be doing you any good with that assortment of other sensors. You don't need the green wire hooked up because a quick - pulse on the blue wire on the sensor will give you prewarn.
Put the door trigger on the green wire.
Put the hood pin on the 22 gauge grey wire along with the blue on the backup battery module.
The alarm's blue wire is an instant trigger and wont work for prewarn. Use this for your trunk trigger and the tilt sensor.
Keep the AU94T sensor completely isolated from all the others. I would put it in place of the shock sensor and not connect anything else to it. It's going to be a lot of work to set it up correctly and you want the remote reporting it to you to the exclusion of all others.
If you had got the Vier 5000, you would have extra sensor ports. Then you could have begged me to send you sensor harnesses from my huge collection.
Make sure the hood pin has a good ground. You can check resistance or continuity with your multimeter. If it doesn't, ground it with a wire and a couple of ring terminals.
If you're still having problems, you will have to hook up each sensor one at a time and test them individually.
Don't put your name in the title of the topic. It makes you sound like Bob Dole

here is a pic of how it should be wired up. Its in the sticky above

Follow that. I never really tried grounding any sensor of off the orange ground while armed wire. Maybe try grounding them to the chassie. I allways use that wire to trigger a relay for a extra kill switch or for window roll up. If more then two items are used maybe try a relay to make a high current ground switch.

Well if you have the sensors hooked up constant and then ground them to the chassis, they're always on. I realize that many alarm companies hook it up this way, but it bothers me. It increases the standby drain and decreases the life of the sensor. By hooking it up to the orange wire, the sensors are only on when the alarm is armed.
By his post I got the feeling that he did follow that diagram.

Agreed
I've always used the grounded when armed to turn sensors on and off.

That is a good point.
I will start going this route. I kind of seen a issue with kicking on certaint sensors when remote start is being used. But a extra relay will cure that. That wire shows ground during remote start.

If the alarm has car start built in this wire is usually turned off while remote starting.
If not the there is usually a bypass on the remote start modules that will turn sensors off. It's been a long time since I have looked at a module though.
