oil leaking from the dipstick tube at the block?
any ideas on why oil is leaking from here? also the engine run excellent but there is blowby from when the oil filler cap is removed. PVC is good. Could really use help on this. Thanks
how do you see blowby...and why would it only happen with the oil cap off? I think you may be watching too many Zmax comercials. The dipstick tube has a little o ring on the bottom, when that gets old, it can leak...but usuially only when the engine is running.

Its usually a sign of your rings going bad but have not yet failed to the point of smoking out the tailpipe.

Blowby is when combustion gas 'blowby' the piston rings when the cylender walls are grooved or scratched. The unburnt gases get recirculated into the engine to be burn again via the PCV system. When the pcv system is clogged up, you can see oil and carbon on the air cleaner, thats the only 'visivble' part of blow by.
"also the engine run excellent but there is blowby from when the oil filler cap is removed"
All I was asking is, how can he see the blowby ONLY when the oil cap is removed?

Because, while its common for oil to be splashing around the valve train with the engine runnig oil doesnt commnly shoot out of the oil cap hole unless there is a problem with proper ring seal hence it's possible to "see" blowby in the form of oil...
