that's just typical crankcase vapors that are normally sucked back into your engine to be burned for emissions purposes through your PCV valve. It's a combination of oil and combustion chamber blow by gasses that get into the crankcase when the engine is running.

It's all good bro - Just learn to trust what you read on the board a little more. If someone posts an answer that is BS, about 20 e-thugs will flame the holy crap out of him, and give you the right answer.
The oil cap thing is just blow-by, and it's normal - that's why your car is equipped with a breather - they used to vent that stuff to the atomosphere, but with smog laws, it gets sucked back into the intake and re-burned - there is a small 1/2" rubber tube that runs from the valve cover to your intake for this. If bluish smoke is POURING out after you stop, and the car is sucking down a quart of oil every 100 miles, you have a problem. You would then find an oily residue on your bumper and tailpipe as well.
Now, get back to work....
