Default b16a2 t3 setup slow spool up?? and boost creep?

this is not my car, its a firend of mine who bought it just to be "cool" but anyways, i drove it around tonight and it just didnt seem right to me. The car is a 99 si with an obx ramhorn mani, knockoff tial wg, greddy rs bov, rc 440s and is tuned on uberdata for 10lbs on the wg spring....the things that i dont get are the turbo starts boosting at 3k rpm and builds boost realllly slow. It feels like theres no power until like 6.5k rpm and up. ive driven a few other turbo hondas but nothing with a turbo this small....shouldnt the t3 (.48/.42 ar) be spooling alot earlier and building boost quickly...and another thing the car creeps to 15lbs of boost near redline...anything we can do to stop this?....

p.s. it has a damn good amount of shaftplay in the turbo...can that be the cause of the slow spool up?

check for boost leaks in the charge pipes. also check to make sure you don't have any bolts coming loose or off the mani or turbo. that could cause it to seem to spool slow or not to have any power til up top. creep could be mani design or the wg

thank you...after i posted i was thinking maybe the mani could hav a hairline crack or something....mani desgin and wastegate placement looks as though it should not cause a problem but what about the gate itself...since its knock off maybe it cant open enough to release the gases or maybe its too small all together...i think its a 38 but not positive...but if anyone who reads this has seen creep from an obx ramhorn let me kno...thanks for the response

some people have opened them up to find the dia. was ripped. (was new) if that is the problem and you get it a new one it should work good.

a firing ring goes between the wg gasket and the actual wg itself on the flange. i forgot to put mine on and we went to street-tune it and the boost spiked with my rpm's, or didnt boost at all. check it, it might be your problem

what is the exhaust setup and is the stock cat still there? a tiny dp and exhaust will cause it to spool very slow.

also check for cracks in hte manifold and boost leaks

id say the turbo is shot or you have a boost leak.
